Welcome to our Mancave!

This week @oneroomchallenge has officially started and it’s time hubby’s Mancave got some serious attention.

Here’s a little back story. When we moved in over 2 years ago hubby didn’t want to remove the paneling. Y’all know I hate paneling! And hate is such a strong word but that’s my feelings. Since this “isn’t my arena” I really didn’t care about look of the basement. However, God whispered in my ear and said I got ya! Next part is trash, the basement flooded repeatedly last year. The recliners and bar were the only things salvageable. We were so lucky about the sofas! Insurance didn’t cover a thing because it was rain water. So we all put in work removing the damaged panels and cleaning up a ton of times.

It’s week three of @oneroomchallenge and all the drywall is up if you know me you already know I don’t do drywall, I have tried it before it’s just not my forte. So we did hire out for the drywall and that was not a DIY. As well as the floor, Thomas is just like “I don’t want to do the floor at this time” so we found this amazing gentleman to put the floor down. So now I think that honestly we’re probably not even going to use entire six weeks for this project because everything isn’t a DIY. We most definitely went and hired out. It’s okay to hire out, knowing when to hire someone is key to any project.

The bar hubby painted, he wanted to leave the paneling up he could salvage it. Again he loves this paneling, so it stayed. And now we are on to picking out a bar top. Stay tuned for week 4!
